"Explode the Code" is a video game designed to help students improve math & reading skills. I designed the entire look of the application and created all the artwork and animation for the underwater and rainforest "skin". I worked very closely with the entire team, especially with the programmers. I even learned some coding in the end! ;) 2012-2014.

This memory building app began as a research-based desktop application commissioned by the US Navy. It then developed into an iphone app for a wider audience. It is now a zombie game!! We worked closely with scientists and programmers to ensure that the game indeed improves working memory. I created all the graphics and user interface. 2011-2013.
Working at this internet start-up, I created dozens of "templates" or themes with which customers made personal home videos. For example, customers created videos for Father's Day, Preschool Graduation and more. Tens of thousands of customers used my themes. I worked very closely with engineers in order to make my animations customizable in real-time. Customers could switch out the photographs and enter their own text. I even partially immersed in coding to make this happen!
Animations created with After Effects, Illustrator & Photoshop & wacom board. 2007-2009.

I love technology and all... BUT long before my ipad, there was my love of paint, pencil, paper and good old fashioned ink! Here are some illustrations made back in the day. Some of these illustrations were made for a friend's novel, a children's book, my sketchbook and some were even made for Disney when they recruited me after CalArts. #callmeoldfashioned
