Allow me to introduce myself :))

​

​

My Russian name is Marina. And my Hebrew name is Chaya Malka.

​

Originally, I'm from the former Soviet Union, but I grew up in San Francisco's Little Russia.

​

Currently, I live in SD, CA with my husband and three goofy kids.

​

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to paint and get creative.

​

I paint canvases, furniture, walls, buildings, and even on my kids...

​

​

My work is deeply spiritual and inspired by Jewish mystical teachings. 

​

I'm also the biggest fan of clay, quilts, cosmic smashbooks & creativity for healing.

​

I love teaching art classes, online & in person. For many years I taught at the Academy of Art in SF.

​

My other work includes video games, short films, commercials and music videos. Once upon a time, I painted puppets for the stop-motion movie Coraline and even did some voice over - yay!

​

Many moons ago, I graduated from CalArts with an MFA in Experimental Animation. My student films were screened around the world and won several awards. Before that I graduated from the University of Chicago, with a BA in Philosophy and Russian Literature (I know, what was I thinking??!!) cum laude :))
